Quick Explanation
A Simple Sentence has one subject and one verb. A Compound Sentence has two independent clauses joined by a conjunction. A Complex Sentence has an independent clause and at least one dependent clause. Example: 'I like ice cream (simple). I like ice cream, and my sister likes cake (compound). Although I like ice cream, my sister prefers cake (complex).'
