Extract and Context

OBERON: I wonder if Titania be awake, / And if she be, what she may be thinking. / It is ten o'clock: the moon shines bright; / In such a night as this, when the sweet wind / Scales over the dew-drops on the fresh buds, / That hangs on the boughs, and sleeps in the flowers, / It is not friendly to be awake. / Yet, mortal, I fear not so; but you, / All that are here, with me, shall be part of a dream / That shall be remembered when the morning breaks. TITANIA: What angel wakes me from my flowery bed? / Of course, I cannot sleep, for I am enchanted / By the fairy music that echoes through the woods. / The night is filled with mischief, and I must protect / My fairy realm from mortal interference. / But tell me, Oberon, what plans do you forge? / Are they as whimsical as the fairy tales we weave? OBERON: Indeed, Titania, my plans are woven with mischief and magic, / To teach these mortals a lesson, and to enjoy the comedy / That unfolds before us, under the guise of fairy tricks. / For in this enchanted night, reality and fantasy blend / And comedy reigns supreme in the fairy court.
