Reading Passage: Fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream

Enter PUCK, humming. PUCK: I jest to Oberon, and make him smile, When I a fat and bean-fed monster head, Peep through the blanket of the dark night, To gaze at his desire. Things base and vile, holding no quantity, Love can transpose to form and dignity. Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. Nor hath love's mind of any judgment taste— Wings and no eyes figure unheedy haste. And therefore is love said to be a child, Because in choice he is so oft beguiled. As waggish boys in game themselves for sport, Still-wedding their love, an' a' say, 'No, no, no,' to one, they'll swear, 'Ay, ay, ay,' to another, and so through the mind. Though he be wise, yet wise not to be wise, And, to seem so, for all the world, to know, That he is wise. Look, where they come. Enter DEMETRIUS, HELENA, and LYSANDER.
