The Mechanicals’ Play

BOTTOM: If we shadows have offended, Think but this, and all is mended— That you have but slumbered here, While these visions did appear. And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream, Gentles, do not reprehend. If you pardon, we will mend. And, as I am an honest Puck, And as I am a honest Puck, If we have unearned luck Now to 't, we will do it; and for that, Let me carry it to you, And give it to you, And I will sing it, and I will dance it. PETER: O, I am not singular in this; Having a good voice, I will sing a song, And I will dance it, and I will sing it. And, as I am an honest Puck, If I have unearned luck, And I will sing it, and I will dance it. QUINCE: If we offend, it is with our good will. That you should think, when we come to it, That we have no more to do than to make sport, And we will do it with good will. BOTTOM: Why do they run away?
