Extract from A Midsummer Night's Dream

Enter THESEUS, HIPPOLYTA, EGEUS, and others. THESEUS: Now, fair Hippolyta, our wedding day Doth draw nigh: only three days to our bliss, But, oh, methinks, how slow this time doth pass! HIPPOLYTA: If I but knew the secret of the next day, I’d not be so anxious; yet, I am eager for the wedding. EGEUS: What cheer, my love? Why do you look so grave? HIPPOLYTA: The woods are whispering secrets, and the air is thick with enchantments. THESEUS: The natural world is filled with magic, and love doth blossom Wherever its roots are planted deeply. (Enter OB approaches, speaking to a group of fairies.) OB: Fairies, whose forest realm I do reside in, I summon thee to witness this union of mortals, Where nature's bounty and love’s pure magic intertwine. (They disappear into the woods.) HIPPOLYTA: See how the forest breathes, alive with unseen spirits, Whose magic guides the course of love and life. THESEUS: Let us honour the harmony of nature and love, And cherish the magic that binds us all. (They exit.)
