I could pick anything and say it was the reason I loved you, or that I loved it for the reason I loved you. But I loved you for the way you made me laugh when I’d forgotten how. I loved you for the way you listened, for how you kept me grounded. I loved the way you could turn a mundane moment into something extraordinary, simply by being present. And I loved you for the comfort of your silence, because sometimes words are just unnecessary. I loved you because you knew me better than I knew myself, and I loved you because you understood that even in love, I needed a space to breathe. All of this, I could say in a thousand words, but none would capture the truth as perfectly as your smile did in that quiet moment before you spoke. The rhythm of your heartbeat, the cadence of your voice, the gentle sway of your presence – these are the verses of my everyday poetry.
