Eden Rock - Extract and Analysis
They are waiting for me somewhere beyond Eden Rock. My father, twenty-five, in the same suit of genuine Irish flat cap and work shirt, holding a fishing rod, stands beside my mother, who wears a white summer dress. The sun is warm, and the sea sparkles like glass. Our feet are buried in the soft sand as they smile at me, beckoning. I feel a sense of peaceful longing, as if I am about to cross a threshold into a world that is both familiar and mysterious. The faint smell of salt and suntan lotion drifts through the air, mingling with the distant sound of waves. The sky above is a clear blue, and everything seems suspended in a moment of timeless calm.
