Analysis of Poetic Techniques in Love's Philosophy
The fountains mingle with the river And the rivers with the ocean; The winds then blow The clouds then flow, The trees then bend to the force of the show, The waves then clash and the winds then blow, If thou wast Annie, I would die for thee. The sunlight clasps the earth And the moonbeams kiss the sea; The winds of heaven mix for ever with a sweet emotion; Nothing in the world is single; all things by a law divine In one another's being mingle—Why not I with thine? —For any thing conjoin'd, To lack the power to transform alone, And I must love not l one alone.
