There once was a bright city, with tall white towers and bustling streets, that I remember vividly. My memory of it remains like a flame, ever-burning in my mind, despite the years that have passed. I see the yellow haze of the sun over the river, and hear the laughter and voices of its people. Yet now, I am exiled from that place, and though I long to return, I am haunted by the image of its walls and the memories I cherish. Sometimes I wonder whether my memories are illusions, or if the city I hold onto is real, or simply a construct of my longing. My hope is that one day, I will see it again, and my heart will be at peace, even if only in dreams.
