Analysis of 'When We Two Parted'

In silence and tears, half broken-hearted, To sever for ever, Set me apart: And I have not seen him for a long day, And I have not spoken to him since that day. The echo of his voice still haunts my mind, His words like shadows, cruel and unkind. The wind that whispers through the lonely trees, Seems to carry the echo of my pleas. Oh, love! How cold the parting and how deep, The pain so silent, yet it makes me weep. The past still lingers, ages of regret, In memories that I cannot forget. His image fades, yet in my heart he stays, A ghost of love in countless ways.
