Examination of Key Dialogue and Relationship Dynamics
HE LOVED ME WELL AND dearly; I pined away with longing, and my lean cheque was mine own. I would not have given it for a wilderness of monkeys. When I was at home I was in a red-heeled shoes, a doublet, and a feathered cap, like a prince. Now, I am a man, and I do not care where I go or what I do. I am a gentleman of good repute, though my reputation is not as high as I would wish. I have loved and been loved, and I have lost and found again. And now I am here, to seek my fortune, and to see the place where I was born and bred. But I find that the world is full of fools and knaves, and that honesty is a stranger to most men's hearts. Yet I hope to find some truth in this world of lies, and some love in this world of hatred.
