Extract from Much Ado About Nothing

SPEAK. I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange? BENEDICK. Same for me then. So you walk a mile to see your face in a mirror, and plainness is your only evil. BEATRICE. For which I no thankful be; I only thank you that you are my mother’s child. SPEAK. You always end with a jade's trick: I pray you, displease not me. BEATRICE. If I do, hang me; I shall have my revenge in some way. Come, come, sit down, I know you are no less than a student, and I will have my revenge. SPEAK. Did I never make a doubt of your love? BEATRICE. O, falseness! I hear: for it shall not be amended. SPEAK. I love you more than ever I loved any woman. BEATRICE. And I love you more than any man in the world. (She takes his hand.) SPEAK. Why, then, your uncle's in town? BEATRICE. Are you not ashamed? I am not to be outdone. SPEAK. Well, I am glad at the news. BEATRICE. Come, I will have thee to my house, and I will tell thee all my mind. SPEAK. Nay, now, you strike a man in earnest. BEATRICE. Well, I will tell you what I think of you. SPEAK. Do, do. BEATRICE. Marry, I think you are a very dull fool. SPEAK. Fool! BEATRICE. I am not such a fool as you think me to be. SPEAK. Well, I will tell you what I think of you. BEATRICE. Do, do. SPEAK. Marry, I think you are a very dull fool. BEATRICE. Fool! (She laughs.)
