Extract for Analysis
BENEDICK: I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange?
LEonato: I peevishly believe you dislike me.]
BENEDICK: This is true: I do dislike her.
LEonato: Thou think'st I am no more than a residence of thy house, a thing upon which thou dost cast thy disdain.
BENEDICK: I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange?
LEonato: A hundred times, I thank you.
BENEDICK: By my beard, I love her. I do, with all my heart.
LEonato: I am glad to hear it.
BENEDICK: And so I pray you, tell me, for my father's sake, I am a great sinner if I have not loved her.
LEonato: Why, then, God forgive me!
BENEDICK: I love her as well as a man can love his wife.
(He kisses her hand.)
LEonato: And I love you as well as a father loves his child.
(They exchange smiles.)
