Extract from Much Ado About Nothing
OUO, but that I love her, I thank her; that I love her not, I buy but that she loves him, for I love her too. Well, I do love her; and I love him so well that I wish I could find in my heart that I had not a hard heart, for truly I love her more than words can wield the matter; dearer than eye can see; than dukes and earls, and in special, but for my own part, I am so attired in my mind that I cannot hear. O, what a world of vile, ill-favoured faults I see; and what a popinjay am I! But, my true love has my heart, and I have his. Come, let us go, and make our visages from our hearts, for they are the servants of our affections. I am for you, and I will be your servant in this: but I will not be your servant in the love that I have right now. For I have no rest till I see you again. But I must tell you, I have a good mind to this, for I am very fond of her. What, my lord? Is’t not your mind to do good? Nay, I think I could be a good friend to her, for I am very fond of her. And I am glad to see you, and I hope I shall see you often. Well, I will take my leave of thee. Farewell, my lord, and I thank you, and you too, for your kindness. God bless you, and keep you from all evil!
