In 1972, Idi Amin ordered the expulsion of Asians from Uganda, accusing them of economic sabotage and disloyalty. Thousands of Asians, mostly of Indian descent, were given just 90 days to leave the country. Many faced hardship as they packed up their belongings and sought refuge abroad.
